Funny film.

Last week I went to the opening nite of the San Francisco Asian American Film Festival. I have gone for the past few years and the movies were always good but a little on the depressing side. There was one about a Chinese woman struggling with her father and the other ones... I really can't remember.

This years film was totally and completely opposite. It was called Today's Special. The film starts out about a man who is a sou chef in Manhattan. Throughout the film , you see how he has struggled his whole life to be accepted by his parents and try to make them proud. I won't spoil the ending of the film...but let me tell you this. The movie is funny. The audience laughed throughout the movie. And this wasn't because of slapstick humor - what the characters said was just funny. I would highly recommend this film!

This is what I have been enjoying for the past couple hours. I have a leather chair and a great big ottoman that not only serves as a place to put up my feet, but a place to rest my cup of tea, put my laptop, basically - the best thing ever.

Oodles of Ideas

I have oodles of ideas. Some of them are good and I am sure some of them are bad. But I have so many of them when I'm driving in the car, at work, eating lunch, at the gym. When I finally get the chance to put some of the ideas into action, I just can't. I'm home, my place is relatively orderly and all the tools are here for me to start... but I just can't get myself to move away from my leather chair, oversized ottoman and lovely laptop.

Vignettes

I like to think my place is filled with little vignettes. In a barely 500 square foot condo - there isn't much room for huge furniture, ample storage or even a separate room. There are a few distinct areas - but these of course are constantly changing. Pictures to come!

P.S. Even though I love my little place with all my heart, I wish I did have a dedicated area for sewing and crafting. I dream about all the projects I want to work on, but somehow setting up the area and getting out all my supplies seems a little too daunting at times when the only think I want to do is start making.

Trying to figure out if I have a cardigan I can do this to....

Hearts make me happy. This is my first attempt at a paper cutout wreath.
